Brainport Academy is the central hub for learning and development in the semiconductor sector within the Brainport region. We are not a school, but a connecting platform. We bring people, training programmes and labour market demand together, so that you can quickly gain insight, an overview and direction.

We translate labour market needs into suitable learning pathways and help semiconductor companies attract new target groups, such as international talent and career changers. Together with industry and training providers, we develop flexible education programmes that are closely aligned with real-world practice and the current demands of employers. In addition, we support semiconductor companies in the further development of their staff, ensuring that talent is retained within the sector.

They have a clear overview of the training provision in the Brainport region, offer insight into the many schemes and grants available to employers wishing to give untapped talent a chance, and help you find the right path within our extensive ecosystem. Would you like to work together with other semiconductor companies, the government and the education sector to build a strong and future-proof semiconductor supply chain, and to collaborate on talent development and solutions to labour market challenges? Then join the Brainport Semicon Community.

This is where HR and Learning & Development professionals from large and small high-tech and manufacturing companies, such as ASML, Frencken and KMWE, representatives from Brainport Development, educational institutions and the labour market regions come together to work on concrete improvements and initiatives for the sector. We tackle current challenges relating to the labour market, talent development and sustainable employability. The meetings take place once every six weeks at various locations across the Brainport region.

There is plenty of scope to raise new issues yourself. This ensures the agenda remains closely aligned with real-world practice and up to date. Examples of current topics on the agenda:

• Retaining crucial expertise in an ageing workforce.
• Challenges for SMEs in attracting and retaining international talent.
• Supporting engineers in their transition to effective leadership.
