Step 1: Discover your opportunities
Get to know the semiconductor sector and find out what jobs are available at our free information session. Would you rather ask your question straight away? That’s fine too, of course. You can contact the Werkcentrum with any questions you have about working in the semiconductor sector. They are a partner of Brainport Academy and will be happy to help you get started.
Step 2: Get a feel for the work
Are you curious to find out what the work is like in practice? After the information session, sign up for an orientation session. Here, you’ll get a glimpse behind the scenes at a semiconductor company or at one of our training partners. This will give you a better idea of the work, the working environment and the various roles. You can find out what appeals to you before you make a decision.
Step 3: Discover which path suits you best based on personalised advice
Still interested? In a one-to-one meeting, we’ll look at your experience, interests, knowledge and aspirations. Together, we’ll determine which path suits you best. You might be able to start work straight away or perhaps a short training course is needed. Sometimes a more extensive training program is the better option, or it may be advisable to learn Dutch first. You’ll also find out how long a programme takes and whether there are any costs involved. I many cases the costs of retraining are fully (or partially) covered. That way, you’ll know exactly what to expect before you start.
Step 4: Make the move to work
Have you chosen a suitable pathway? We will then assist you with training and the step towards employment. You can also receive support during your initial period in the workplace. This allows you to confidently take the step into a job in the semiconductor industry.
